SUNDAY SCHOOL
Adult Sunday school is a core ministry of Covenant. Classes are held each Sunday morning at 9:30 am. New classes are offered each quarter. Child care is provided for infants and toddlers, and Sunday school classes are available for two-year olds and up. Below you will find the current offerings. Come and join us for Sunday school!
The General Class: It was from prison that Paul wrote, “Rejoice in the Lord always.” Addressing a church, troubled by division and false teaching, the Apostle called anxious Christians to share in his vibrant joy. What was Paul‘s secret? How did he maintain such peace of mind when the threat of execution loomed? The book of Philippians presents the key to having joy that even our darkest trials cannot steal away: knowing Christ. In this video teaching series, Dr. Steven Lawson takes a thorough look at Paul‘s letter of joy. Set out on this verse-by-verse journey to discover how the joy of the Lord enables Christians to live faithfully for the gospel in every circumstance. The class will meet in the main and will be moderated by Roger Yancey.
Dr. Steven J. Lawson is founder and president of One Passion Ministries, a Ligonier Ministries teaching fellow, dean of the doctor of ministry program at The Master’s Seminary, and teacher for the Institute for expository preaching.
The Community Class: What is worship? Why do we do it? What do we expect to happen when we gather corporately as the people of God? What should and should not be included in our worship?
During the Fall quarter we will be looking at the Reformed view of worship. It is worship that is shaped by the Word of God, simple, and meant to highlight the joy and blessing of meeting with God as His people. The class will be taught by Pastor Coyle.
